A few years ago as I was tying to find internet sites that offered all of the types of products that I was looking for; I thought to myself I really wish that I could find one site and bookmark it! Instead, I decided to create my own site with all of the information that I have collected over the years, recipes, tips and of course-links to sites that offer natural and organic products!

Hello and welcome to Evies's Earth!
Have you ever grown frustrated trying to find products that are truly natural? So many companies claim to be natural, until you read the ingredients. (If they are even listed!) This is what I was faced with years ago. I wanted to find products that were safe for my family and also safe for our earth. If this is also your quest, be it for health, ethical or environmental reasons-then this is the site for you!

When I became pregnant with our first son I wanted to make some changes in my life. The first one being more cautious about the products I was cleaning my home with. I began reading labels and found that there were not very many products that were labeled as safe and non toxic. In fact, most products were labeled as keep away from children and use in well ventilated areas! I realized at that moment that I wasn't about to use any of those products. At this point, I read many books and spent countless nights at my computer. I found a few products that I could purchase that I felt comfortable using. I also learned how to make my own cleaning products. I was amazed at how simple and cost effective they were. Not to mention equally effective as most of their toxic counter-parts.

All of the research on cleaning products led me to realize that there are many aspects to having a healthy home. I began to learn about organic foods, preservatives, artificial colorings and other ingredients. We had always eaten a seemingly healthy diet. It wasn't until I began to really read the labels that I found that we needed to make some changes there too. The results we saw in our healthier and improved diet was well worth it. My husband and I saw ourselves getting viruses less often and generally having more energy.

With all this I began to think, we are watching what we are putting in our bodies and around us, what about the things we are putting on our bodies? At about this same time, my husband had developed a serious case of allergies. It attacked his eyes and sinuses so violently that he missed countless days of work. All the Doctors' visits sent him home with new drugs, none of which helped. At this point we were eating a very healthy diet and living in a home that was being cleaned without the use of chemicals. It wasn't until I got rid of all of our current skin care and hair care products that his allergies went away. I replaced all of our body care products with natural/organic products. It was quite the task that once again had sent me to the internet for more research. I learned that I didn't have to go around looking natural to actually be natural. I found many companies that offered exactly what I was looking for.

The changes we made in our home spanned a few years, it was not, by any means, overnight!

Several months after making the last of these changes I noticed something I had not paid any attention to-my inhaler. For all of my adult life I have had to use a rescue inhaler and now it sat untouched for how long I can not remember. This is not say that living more healthy made my asthma go away, it is to say that eliminating the toxins in my immediate environment kept my asthma from flaring up. These being my personal experiences and opinions, I invite you to create your own. Research, find what works for you, as what works for one may not work for another.
